Tom Arnold, as famous for his unexpected appearance as comic relief in “True Lies” as he was for the equally laughable roll as Roseanne Barr’s husband, has filed for divorce from his exceptionally hot third wife, even by third wife standards, Shelby Roos. Five years of marriage has been enough for the “Soul Plane” sub-star, according to court documents filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. “Irreconcilable differences” were cited, effectively ending the 2002 marriage and subsequent years of scorching hot sex that invariably must have followed.

In January, the “McHale’s Navy” star filed for dismissal of his own previous petition for legal separation. The reconciliation didn’t take, sadly and now the 48-year-old “Best Damn Sports Show” castaway is again asking for separation from the 35 year old political consultant, whom he met at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles in 2000. They wed just two years later in an intimate ceremony at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. Though they plainly consummated the marriage, they have no children together.

When Arnold split with Roseanne, he bounced back by quickly wedding makeup artist-actress Julie Champnella, in the second of his three four year marriages. This time around he’s staying occupied with his next project, the dramatic comedy “Rockett”, where he’ll play alongside Jimmy Fallon, Sharon Stone, Lucy Liu and Tony Hale. The film is due out in November, 2007.
