Tammy Faye Bakker rose to fame as the giant haired, wailing wife of televangelist Jim Bakker in the 1980s, shortly before falling from grace the exact same way. Faye, now 65, has been battling cancer since 1996, and has admitted that cancer has taken a strong lead in the fight from which there’s just no coming back. She’s stopped treatment, written a goodbye letter to her fans, and now can only wait for the good Lord to finish smiting her, presumably for her sins or to make an example of her for His other sheep.

Even the estimated $130 million earned by “Praise The Lord” is no match for cancer. When former husband Jim Bakker was sentenced to five-years in prison, she did the only logical thing. She divorced Jim, married his best friend and went on reality shows like “The Surreal Life” where she got to live out the American dream; being stuck in a mansion with Vanilla Ice.

Tammy Faye said on her website, “The doctors have stopped trying to treat the cancer and so now it’s up to God and my faith. And that’s enough! But please continue to pray for the pain and sick stomach. My precious daughter, Tammy Sue, and her wonderful friends are staying with me. They don’t want me falling down the stairs. I am down weight wise to 65 pounds, and look like a scarecrow. I need God’s miracle to swallow.”

God was unavailable for comment, but religious insiders have suggested He will not grant her a pardon, adding, “The Lord works in mysterious ways”, “all things in God’s time” and “He [God] knows what He’s doing.”
