Paris Hilton’s “Playing Dumb” in Court Maybe No Act

The “One Night in Paris” star and noted fluffer, Paris Hilton, is back on the wrong end of the long arm of the law. She was back in court Friday for allegedly violating probation terms for an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction. Prosecutors have asked that she be jailed for 45 of the maximum 90-days, and pay a $1,000 fine. Despite her seemingly super-human wealth and apparently sub-human intelligence, City Attorney Rocky Delgadildo said Hilton is being treated the same as anyone else.

In court Paris Hilton said, “I don’t know what happened… I did what they said.” Let’s hope the judge hasn’t seen “The Simple Life”, because anyone who has, knows the simple model has never done what anyone has said.

Hilton was pulled over in January by California Highway Patrol while driving on a suspended license, an offense that carries mandatory jail sentence and irrevocable vehicle impound in some states. She had signed an agreement stating she wouldn’t drive, and even had a copy of it in her glove box, but still played off as if she was unaware.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies stopped Hilton in February for speeding at night with her headlights off. Even though everyone with a spare $15 and a DVD player has seen her headlights, it’s less true than ever that the lights are on, but nobody’s home. Apparently they’re actually off.

She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines. Perhaps the hotel empire heiress was unaware that bartending academy doesn’t count.
