Thanks in no small part to his costly divorce from the modern day Yoko Heather Mills. The lonely hearts club split reportedly cost the former Beatle in excess of $200 million, putting him behind Clive Calder, the former Zomba records label executive whose artists included Britney Spears and ‘N Sync, as well as Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Clive Calder topped the charts with an estimated $2.6 billion, Andrew Lloyd Webber came in second at $1.5 billion thanks to his role as producer of the West End revival of “The Sound of Music.” McCartney’s net worth drooped to a paltry $1.4 billion, begging the obvious question of where in the hell these guys get their money, and if they’re accepting any new applications.

The richest musical figures list also includes theater producer Cameron Mackintosh, “American Idol” creator Simon Fuller, Madonna and Guy Ritchie, Elton John, Mick Jagger (apparently), Tom Jones (whom few even realized was British) and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, not to be confused with The Crypt Keeper.
