One of the top US celebrity gossip websites was recently flooded with traffic they didn’t expect. Sadly for them, the fame they’d hoped to have was quickly supplanted by infamy from the so-called celebrity they thought they were endorsing. The complaint messages they got, which slowed servers to a crawl and impeded readers from enjoying the site, all came quick on the heels of an ill-considered interview with the now internationally famous racist Jade Goody.

Perez Hilton, a lackluster, if not influential Hollywood columnist, interviewed the internationally shamed comeback Big Brother star and posted it on his website as a “postcard from London”. It was widely perceived as a divisive career move by Miss Goody to impress a potential audience inside the United States.

No sooner was the sycophantic rant published than was it discovered and sabotaged by faithful followers in the UK annoyed at Goody, who made ostensibly racist comments in the Big Brother House, garnering undue publicity, if not outright infamy. Reader slash commenters left literally thousands of angry, annoyed messages, according to several news outlets.

Perez Hilton, who was later forced to remove the interview, wrote, “We had a lovely day getting to know Jade, who has her own plans of trying to conquer America – like David & Victoria Beckham and Jordan & Peter Andre.”

Apparently the English still lack even a cursory understanding of the language they claim to have invented, so most readers were left scratching heads, if not outright balls for bollocks.

Many readers were incensed, pointing out that, “[Hilton] failed to mention that Jade is now an outcast in Britain due to her ‘racism’ on Celeb Big Brother”, and this comment was not unique or isolated by any means.

Jade Goody has not yet secured any licensing, franchise, television or film contract in the United States, but we’ll follow this story closely as it continues to unfold.
