Courtney Love Hates Running Out of Money, Indifferent to Nirvana Idols
Courtney Love recently announced to the music website Spinner that she will be selling a glut of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s personal belongings at the New York auction Christies later this year. Fans are outraged at what is perceived as griefless widow’s greed, so she’s done the only decent thing she can think of; she’s selling it to a private collector instead, with “a portion of the proceeds” going to charity.
It’s important to point out she doesn’t know what decency is. Courtney Love said she needs to move on from the Nirvana star’s 1994 death and would sell his guitars, picks, clothes, and even a pair of his pajamas that she still wears to bed. She isn’t selling everything, though, just enough to make a bunch of money.
It is her failure to reach agreeable terms that delayed the release of rare, lost recordings for many years, essentially missing the period of market demand for the product, thus insuring nobody would make any money from the album.
