British recording artist and cross-dresser Boy George was arrested and released on bail following claims of false imprisonment and common assault against a 28-year-old man. Boy George, born George O’Dowd, who has more culture in his club than most, is free until July pending further inquiry.

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday in east London. Representatives for George have not issued a formal statement, but his brother Kevin told NME music magazine that the allegations were “hilarious”. Let’s face it though, getting beat up by a 45-year-old cross dresser is pretty funny.

It may not be as funny as last year when police responded to a burglary call at his Manhattan home and found cocaine, but all he the karma chameleon had to do to come and go out of that sticky wicket was sweep some city streets at the court’s order.
