If 22-year-old singer Ashlee Simpson is sure of one thing, it’s that’s she never seems very sure of anything. Though she isn’t as big of a cosmetic queen than 26-year-old sister Jessica Simpson, Ashlee has been known to constantly change her appearance, even in very dramatic ways, like when she debuted the down-sized schnauz last year.

Answering questions about her relentless pursuit of physical perfection, Simpson told Cosmopolitan magazine, “I feel very confident with the way I look… But I felt just as confident the way I looked before. I’ve always been confident with who I am.”

Easy to say, now that she doesn’t look like that anymore. This is the girl who criticized singers who lip-sync, and was caught doing it weeks later on Saturday Night Live. This is the girl who says, “It’s really hard for me to like Hollywood-type guys”, but in the same breath says “I like guys who are into surfing.”

Last year when reporters asked if she’d had rhinoplasty to correct her Joe Camel nose, she told The Associated Press, “Maybe, who knows?” I assume that’s a rhetorical question because the answer is “kind of everybody”. Unless maybe she was asking, “who nose?”
