As Dementia Starts To Take Hold, Sophia Loren Says It Ain’t Easy Being a Celebrity

The 154 year old walking dust storm, told a Sydney press conference Friday that though blessed with natural beauty, an Oscar 47 years ago, and the ability to pull off a leopard print pantsuit, despite her senior citizen discount, that being a celebrity isn’t easy. You would think that growing up in the 1800’s would have taught her much about dealing with hardship and adversity. Guess not. *shrugs*
“It is not easy to become a star… You have to have a very determined character. You have to work and to do so much. You really have to be stubborn; to know what you want and to think about it every day, every hour of the day: ‘I want to be a star.’ But if this is what you want, you have to be passionate otherwise you will never reach anything. Because it’s a very hard road to go on, but when you get there, it’s the most beautiful thing in the world.”
I wonder how hard it is to be only famous enough to get photographers out by holding a press release about having been famous. Loren is so old that she’s costarred alongside Frank Sinatra and Paul Newman, but really does look pretty good, whether for her age or otherwise. G.I.L.F. perhaps?
