American Idol Eliminee Jessica Sierra Appears for Cops, Not the Show
Jessica Sierra, the 21-year-old pop-wannabe and 10th-place loser on the fourth season of American Idol, was arrested in Florida early Sunday on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, cocaine possession and introduction of contraband into a detention facility. She was busted at Tampa’s Hyde Park Café after allegedly throwing and breaking a glass at 28-year-old Wisam Hadad’s head, opening a major gash above the eye.
A police spokeswoman said Sierra was so belligerent and uncooperative that officers threatened her with leg restraints after she repeatedly tried to kick out the windows of the police cruiser. Once in custody, police claim to have found a bag of cocaine in her purse. She denied that the drugs were hers, claiming the bag had not been in her possession much of the day. Because, you now, lots of people like to store their drugs in other people’s bags without telling them.
Sierra recorded a number of songs in Nashville last year, but has no plans to release an album due to the fact that her appeal as a reality television wash-up has been limited. The only recent release she’s interested in was her own, on $11,500 bail. Sources report she did not miss her scheduled appearance at work, where she has a five-night per week engagement at Tampa Hooters, where she does less singing and more delivering of hot wings.
